You would have thought that we learned our lesson the first time. Yeah, right. Seeing that we'd already tackled the most influential people in denim history, it was high time we focused on The 15 Most Influential People in Denim Right Now. And who better to turn the job over to than Francois Girbaud, founder, owner and boss of Marithé François Girbaud, the most influential innovative denim- led fashion brand on the block? To see who did make it to our list, just scroll down through.

Roy Slaper - founder of Roy Denim
Years and years ago, Slaper was driven about 3-4 years ago to put together his very own line of denim jeans a small Oakland-based denim line started in the apartment of its founder and namesake, Roy Slaper. It is the epitome of the small-run, labor-of-love clothing that we treasure. Driven by what you ask? Not money, just an extreme interest in and passion for machinery and denim, which is easily reflected in his work. Today, Roy Denim is known and inspires people worldwide. You can thank him for that.

Maria Erixon Levin - founder of Nudie Jeans
If you've never heard of Nudie Jeans then you must've either been born yesterday or you've been living under a rock your entire life. Maria Erixon Levin is the hand behind the brand’s success.

Toru Noogami - founder of Samurai Jeans
We had to pay respect to one of the exclusive denim connoisseurs to ever do it. Toru Noogami, founder of the Legendary Japanese Selvedge denim from Osaka; Samurai Jeans. The label is known for their exclusivity (at least in North America), heavy dyes (they released a 24 oz. denim this year), and – as a result – stunning fades.

Jean Touitou – founder of A.P.C.
When thinking of understated, minimal men’s and women’s clothing with that hard-to-define effortless something, the name Atelier de Production et de Création, or A.P.C., is one that immediately springs to mind. The Tunisian born Jean Touitou is the key people for this some-of-the-planet’s-best French label A.P.C. Now with a whole new generation appreciating the brand, new stores might be opening soon this year.

David Beckham
What can't this guy do? In just one month, Becks is already the most stylish guy right now. His layering game is on point, and every item is tailored to a T. He's been the most consistent this year, therefore he beats out the usual suspects for the number one spot.

Orlando Bloom
Orlando Bloom's pair of jeans totally defines his style and how he gets a heartthrob status, especially after popped up as the elf-prince Legolas to the silver screen in the Lord of the rings triologies. The perfect way to look put together and classy, yet still be a hot star most of us has an eye for his style. Every black jeans & shoes of his were proved to be a perfect choice.

Brandon Svarc founders of Naked & Famous
Brandon is a true denim geek! For four and a half years, the do-it-all founder of Naked & Famous has been showcasing some of the most innovative jeans on the market while simultaneously maintaining a line of well-priced, luxury denim basics and always surprise its fan with new offerings. Created in reaction to often garish and over-embellished celebrity denim culture.

Francois and Marithé Girbaud founder of Marithé François Girbaud
François Girbaud and his partner are the one who come up with a new way to treat denim with laser and ozone instead of bleach or sandwash, saving precious water and eliminating chemicals. This helps jeans to live longer, too – boosting anti-fade properties and creating innovative textile effects. Now this Wattwash™ treatment is the future of fashion! The jeans scene is changed forever now.

Elio Fiorucci founder of Fiorucci
He is the legend who presented a glorious romp through the history of his eponymous, sassy fashion label; Fiorucci. Fashion designer, entrepreneur, talent scout, trendsetter, and among the world's first mass communication gurus: all these terms describe Fiorucci.

Adriano Goldschmied founder of AG Jeans
Hails from the Italian port of Trieste and launched his first denim line in 1970 in the ski resort of Cortina d’Ampezzo. Eight years later, he founded Diesel and would be instrumental in the development of successful European brands including Replay, Goldie and Rivet.

Zac Efron
Zac used to keep it simple, but it seems like he's all about statement pieces this year. Earlier this month, he rocked a sick jacket from Nudie Jeans, then just a few days ago, he was spotted in his super rough worn look pair of jeans with white tee. Making us kept an eye for, don't worry though, he's still rocking the screen and keeping his look true to himself.

Pharrell Williams
We hereby dub Pharrell Williams the street style king. We can't hate on Pharrell's style because he's the master of mixing and matching streetwear looks without looking corny. His collection of Billionaire Boys Club and Ice Cream Clothing are impressive and making other rappers eat their heart out.

Jeff Rudes and Susie Crippen founder of J Brand
Wayne Berkowitz founder Superfuture
Need to say more? He is the man behind the largest Internet forum for hipsters into raw, selvage denim. The site is the real deal. True Religion, Diesel, Seven, Rock and Republic, and other Eurotrashy brands are looked down upon, while brands such as Nudies, APC, Samurai, Supreme, etc are cool there.

Kiya Babzani and Andrew Chen Founders of Self Edge
Here are the two experts in denim: Kiya Babzani (Self Edge co-founder) and Andrew Chen (Self Edge co-founder, 3sixteen founder). We have written about him before in the Mythbuster video post. Check it out and you can see how their words can have impact towards the denim world!
